Hi,

I've been using lightup for a while now and began to have problems rendering, could this be because my macbook pro isn't powerful enough? It works with basic drawings but when I put too many objects in, bounce light and add emitters the render button does nothing! Any advice is much appreciated, my computer details are below:

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014)
Processor: 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

Many thanks
Tom

Well, I've had some issues with an early 2011 17" MacBook Pro, even with a discreet GPU; AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB / Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB. I typically let the computer decide which graphics card to use, but get best results forcing use of the 6750M. I see from MacTracker that the 2.2 GHz model you reference does NOT have the NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M included and that would have greatly helped you. The issues I've had apparently traced to the 2011's graphics subsystem, as suggested by AdamB, BUT those have smoothed out over the last several OS updates. However, I'm now locked at 10.13.6 on this particular laptop. In response to the "render button (Tour Tool) does nothing" large models do take a little extra time up front on mine as well before rendering progress begins, but it DOES happen. So my sad recommendation is the same one I'm facing: Pony up for new(er) computer!
